The Arco floor lamp was designed in 1962 by Achille Castiglioni for Flos. The designer wanted to create a floor lamp that would be able to successfully illuminate different settings without the need for a fixed electrical output. The Arco Lamp is totally suitable for over a dining room table or coffee table in a living room. It can be used in any setting, either residential or maybe in the waiting area of a style conscious professional who wants to let his or her customers know that they are the right person for the job.
The Arco Lamp is a work of art, as well as being immensely functional. The base is made from Carrara marble which comes from a quarry in the Italian Alps. Many of Michelangelo’s sculptures were fashioned from this stunning marble which is available in white or black. The base weighs approx 143lbs (65kg) and has a cleverly positioned hole through the middle so that it can be moved with the aid of a broom handle! The design of the lamp is the same today as the day it was first produced except for the technology behind the wiring which is always being improved.
These lamps will surely brighten up one’s room when turned on. The vivid colors will shine with butterfly shapes reflected throughout the room. These will help in making the place so comfortable especially with children since most children loves butterflies. But it also has the same effects with grownups that are also into butterflies.
