I'm Lani. I live in Austin, Texas (jealous?). I am the New Media Director of Single Pointe Realty (and AgentGenius.com). I keep this blog as my personal take on the market, the business of Real Estate, and the agents that make up the profession from all over the nation. Because I am not a licensed agent- I write commentary from the unique perspective of part consumer, part insider. Oh, and I have a ridiculous affinity for cheese.

We're a unique real estate company that doesn't operate as a traditional brokerage. We bring new technology, modern buying & selling strategies to our clients- it's been my job to create a home buying & selling experience that is fun, fresh, & exciting for today's Austin real estate consumer.

Kris Berg is a Loser…

…and so am I.   We’ve been misguided in thinking that being cute, skinny blondes in real estate was a GOOD thing- apparently not if you’re a blogger.   Although Rhonda and NikNik made the cut of Tony’s Top 20 Bloggers of 2007, they’re not in real estate

Boo, Cicerone!  Kris and I know people and while I typically would award myself the 21st place award, I’m just going to note that although I do like Tony, I think the list is bunk.  I understand my absence (especially given my recent blogatonic state), but Kris’?  That’s whack.

Hey! I USED to be blonde, and I’m pretty skinny now. :)

  2. lani Says:

hmmm… should I revise it to include the word rack in there somewhere? no, that’s not appropriate- how about chick, will that work?

  3. Kris Berg Says:

Thanks, Lani, for pointing out the obvious (and I mean the loser part, not the part about being blonde, which was not obvious at all until I paid my BFF James a visit yesterday to have a frank discussion with my roots).

The greatest part of all of this is not that I am the most award-challenged, honor-less blogger on the planet, but the fact that your post title has now assured that future Google Generations will be able to relive my public snubbing. Thanks, again, and right back at ya (loser)!

  4. lani Says:

no problem, Kris- I aim to please ;)

  5. Kelley Koehler Says:

well, if you include the word ‘chick’ then i ought to qualify. at least i’m a natural blonde, although - i know, i know - i did gain some weight this year. i was on a 2 week CRUISE, people, cut me some slack.

  6. Athol Kay Says:

Personally I thought Tony’s list of Top 20 Bloggers was extremely tasteful and right on the money. I’m sure Jeff would agree. :-)

  7. lani Says:

@Kelley- you have your own category for being naturally blonde. Kris and I have to work for it :)

@Athol- of COURSE you think the list is right on the money. Not only are you on the list, it’s your nature to oppose me, right? ;) JK

I can say that MOST of the list is right on, but there are a few questionable bloggers (no, I won’t name names or opine, don’t ask). While I don’t really believe *I* should be on the list, I think people like Kris, Benn, Jay, Kelley and Dalton were blatantly overlooked.

  8. Kelley Koehler Says:

/appreciating the high praise from lani.

I’m not sure I qualify for top 20 of anything, except in the exclusive best tucson-real-estate-agent-and-blogger-and-ballerina category. Far as I know, that’s a one woman list though.

  9. lani Says:

then it sounds like you’ve already won, hon! Top 1 Blogger is even BETTER than Top 20 ;)

  10. Who Makes The Cut In These Top 20 Blogger Lists? Says:

[...] Lani is having a fit again. Relax, it’s normal for her. This too will pass. [...]

  11. Tony Gallegos Says:

Lani - You were origianlly on my top 20 list and then someone reminded me you were a UT alum and that automatically droped you twenty spots…at least you are not a Nebraska alum (50 points) - LOL.

In all seriousness, you Kris and Kelley were in the top twenty nine. The 11 - 30 were a crap shoot.

Plus, I figured two blondes (NikNik and Rhonda) filled my hair diversity quota…that’s how Athol and Jeff made it. Notice the pattern of two.

Maybe if you are really nice to me this year, you can make the list for 2008, which would set you up for fame and riches like Athol and Jeff.

Lani - Ok, you made it - A Tie For 20th Place Goes To Lani Anglin http://tgalleg.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/01/a-tie-for-20th.html

  13. Whining Pays Off « RE Revealed Says:

[...] The whine +  the friend who inadvertently helped me whine = the RESULT.  For all of you husbands telling your wife that nagging persistence doesn’t pay off, you’ve been proven wrong.  I can tell Tony’s married… [...]

Bubble Gum Interview- Benn Rosales (My HUSBAND)!!!

A better question is do you think people who say smooth as a baby’s butt have ever changed a diaper? I mean seriously, why do we spend so much time dreaming of being younger or going back in time, or relating to childhood when we really should embrace the “now”. Looking backwards is so “life in reverse.”[…]

Without giving too much away, it involved a party, a Tall Scotch & Water with a Twist (or ten), midnight munchies, a drive-thru window, assorted food products named “Jack” (Bonus, Breakfast), two Super Tacos, a large order of fries and a couple of regrettable hangovers. Steve is such a romantic![…]
