I'm Lani. I live in Austin, Texas (jealous?). I am the New Media Director of Single Pointe Realty (and AgentGenius.com). I keep this blog as my personal take on the market, the business of Real Estate, and the agents that make up the profession from all over the nation. Because I am not a licensed agent- I write commentary from the unique perspective of part consumer, part insider. Oh, and I have a ridiculous affinity for cheese.

We're a unique real estate company that doesn't operate as a traditional brokerage. We bring new technology, modern buying & selling strategies to our clients- it's been my job to create a home buying & selling experience that is fun, fresh, & exciting for today's Austin real estate consumer.

Great Ideas Must Be Duplicated

In the Re.net world, we spend a great deal of energy introducting new ideas about our businesses or about technology.  One of my few great ideas was the blogroll you see to the right (it is quite sexy).  I encouraged people to take the idea- I’m good at sharing.  It’s not a widget and it is time consuming, but Todd Carpenter at the new Blog Fiesta sent me a nice email noting his implementation of the mini avatars- lookin’ good!  Thanks Todd; there’s nothing worse than a used idea with no acknowledgement).  Head over to his site to see his progress!

The only problem I noted is that Sellsius is in my spot… MUST be a glitch! :)  blog-fiesta-header.jpg

Thanks again Lani. I didn’t really put the photos in any sort of order. However, Sellsious is listed at the beginning because they are the ones who inspired the blog in the first place.

    Link bait.

I think you’re off base Derek. When Lani posted her redesign, my comment on this blog was how cool I thought her blog roll was. When I decided to take inspiration from it, I simply emailed her to thank her for the idea.

    Todd- agreed.

The purpose of this article was to show that Todd was the first. His aren’t links so it’s not really the same thing, but I was really excited that someone else used the idea of the mini avatars. AND I was VERY excited that Todd was so open about- most people just pirate and move on.

Great work, Todd- your use of the idea is really really cool, especially since all of those faces make up the Fiesta… PERFECT!!!

Bubble Gum Interview- Benn Rosales (My HUSBAND)!!!

A better question is do you think people who say smooth as a baby’s butt have ever changed a diaper? I mean seriously, why do we spend so much time dreaming of being younger or going back in time, or relating to childhood when we really should embrace the “now”. Looking backwards is so “life in reverse.”[…]

Without giving too much away, it involved a party, a Tall Scotch & Water with a Twist (or ten), midnight munchies, a drive-thru window, assorted food products named “Jack” (Bonus, Breakfast), two Super Tacos, a large order of fries and a couple of regrettable hangovers. Steve is such a romantic![…]
