I'm Lani. I live in Austin, Texas (jealous?). I am the New Media Director of Single Pointe Realty (and AgentGenius.com). I keep this blog as my personal take on the market, the business of Real Estate, and the agents that make up the profession from all over the nation. Because I am not a licensed agent- I write commentary from the unique perspective of part consumer, part insider. Oh, and I have a ridiculous affinity for cheese.

singlepointerealty.com relocation, sales, leasing, austin real estate and homes

We're a unique real estate company that doesn't operate as a traditional brokerage. We bring new technology, modern buying & selling strategies to our clients- it's been my job to create a home buying & selling experience that is fun, fresh, & exciting for today's Austin real estate consumer.

A Chameleon Caused The Breakup

Realtor Wives is NOW RE RevealedTada!  So I’ve finally broken up with Blogger/Blogspot and have moved on to my hot new Word Press!  The colors have changed, the corners have rounded, the uber-modern Blogroll has been born,  (be sure to “ooh” and “aah” in the comments), but I’m still the same brassy Texan broad who is the quintessential Real Estate fan.

The chameleon has become the new logo simply because Real Estate is never black and white.   Real Estate is consistently hyper local- even between two firms in the same city, you’ll see fluctuations in practice.  The chameleon represents Real Estate and its many colors and forms- in practice and presentation.  I’ve experienced this first hand (from the perspective of business development) surfing the blogosphere where you can see, hear and feel how differently each application of the Real Estate practice can be applied. It is my job as Director of Business Development to watch the horizon for trends and sifting out the fads from the way forward.  The chameleon (big eyeballs and all) has the ability to look forward and backward at the same time- thus our super intelligent mascot was born!

Be sure to change your feed readers and bookmarks as the chameleon has taken over RealtorWives!

Did the “Live Earth” concert have anything to do with this going green business?

Great job with communicating this change too by the way.

    Shailesh

  12. Brian Miller Says:

very nice site…I love the chameleon mascot.. your site gives me ideas for mine…

  13. lani Says:

    Thanks guys!

I didn’t take part in the “Live Earth” sham… the timing is eerie, huh?

Let’s just say we’ve GONE GREEN! Woo Hoo!!!

  14. Chris Lengquist Says:

Allow me to introduce myself. I am an attorney from GEICO and would like to inform you that you are obviously jumping on the GECKO bandwagon to attract our clientele. Consider this your order to quit.

  15. lani Says:

Ha- nice, Chris! If the gecko can take on the RE Revealed chameleon in a death match, we’ll solve it that way. K? :) Only one can win!

Who’ll place bets? Remember- chameleon’s eyes can independently look forward and backward while their body blends in with their environment… who’s in?

  16. Chris Lengquist Says:

But according to the commercials the Gecko can drive. So he may just mow down your chameleon in a hit-and-run “accident.”

  17. lani Says:

    Touche, Chris :)

  18. Joe Peffer Says:

Great new look Lani. That whole changing color, looking forward and backward, no black and white in real estate mascot description was too perfect.

  19. Rob Beland Says:

    Great new format…it’s very greeny!

I did notice the boxes moving up the screen…is that some type of hypnotic trancey thing???

  20. Todd Carpenter Says:

Wow. Nice new digs! Did you code that blogroll yourself or is that a Wordpress plugins that I could use to shamlessly copy your lead.

  21. Derek Burress Says:

Hey Lani: I found your site as I was creating a new bookmarks page and went to add RealtorWives.com to my newly created bookmarks page. Question - Is RealtorWives.com no more or what? Wondering so I can make sure I use the right address on my bookmarks page - I have you down right now as rerevealed.com so let me know if I need to update the address, etc.

  22. Ben Says:

Dereck, yes, you will need to update bookmarks to rerevealed.com/

Todd, the blogroll isn’t a widget, its simple html and not origional to us except no one’s ever used this formatt as a blogroll, that was ours. If we can fix the load time the blogroll is actually expanding into another project we are doing and we will release it as an actual widget. But as a sidenote, the blogroll isn’t very practical in this format and still clunky. Stay tuned for the fix.

A better question is do you think people who say smooth as a baby’s butt have ever changed a diaper? I mean seriously, why do we spend so much time dreaming of being younger or going back in time, or relating to childhood when we really should embrace the “now”. Looking backwards is so “life in reverse.”[…]
