26 Most Influential Real Estate Bloggers named by Inman
I was really happy to learn today that Inman released their list of the Top 25 Most Influential Real Estate Bloggers. First, I noticed that I am friendly with most of these influential people. Second, I noticed that neither Kris Berg, Jay Thompson , April Groves or Benn Rosales made the list to which I say “BOO”- bump Kelman and those snoozers over at Business Week. Third, I noticed that in an attempt to not stroke my already overinflated ego, the kind folks at Inman awarded ME with the Secret 26th Blogger Award. If you visit the site and scroll to the very bottom, take your mouse and highlight the end of the page… you will see the secret message in white text suddenly appear. I’ve taken the liberty of showing this to you below in a screen shot:
In case this amazing screen shot is too difficult to see, I have copied and pasted the crucial part about moi:
“Special” Bloggers
Lani Anglin
Ruler, R.E. Revealed
Asset Director, Single Pointe Realty Lani Anglin is a native Austinite who graduated from THE University of Texas and is known to bleed an odd shade of orange. She is quickly becoming the Top Blogger in the RE.net due to her firm grasp on the English language and awesome RE ninja skills that allow her to accurately capture the essence of the current Real Estate state of affairs. She has a unique ability to upset most readers while simultaneously making them adore her. While she’s no Kris Berg, she has found fame in her notoriously tart wit. Anglin has a day job which usually comes second to her blogging, Starbuck’s and Boston Legal addictions. Don’t ever steal her parking spot, hide her candy or tell her she can’t do something, because she’s not a licensed Real**r and doesn’t care if you do the puppy dog face- she’ll gladly blog about your wrong doings. Oh, and she’s pretty. And funny. And she would never ever ever write a fake Inman article about herself. Fin.
I just want to thank everyone who has made this possible. I want to thank the chicken fried steak I had for dinner and for the cinnamon colored couch that I don’t plan on leaving for the next hour. You guys are great and I couldn’t have done it without you. Inman hand picked a great bunch of bloggers and I am proud to be in the posse.

Okay, big-shot Bloggie Girl. I offer you this award, of which I am also a recipient. This award is based on the honor system, so others may use it as they see fit.

[...] Lani took 26th place, and for this I congratulate her. She is so deserving, unless you count the fourth quarter, which Inman News DOES NOT! [...]

You pretty much always manage to “influence” a smile on my face. You truly are an amazing woman Lani!

Thanks, y’all- if I had a humble bone in my body, I would be totally humbled
Glad to make you smile Norm and Kris- the ribbon is freakin’ hilarious.

I was included on the list of influential Jewish real estate bloggers. It was printed as an appendix to the pamphlet “Greatest Jewish Sports Heroes.” Chapter 1 - Sandy Koufax. Chapter 2 - Hank Greenberg. Chapter 3 - everyone else.
I think Howard’s also on there … then the crowd thins.

HA HA HA- Dalton, that’s awesome!

Just to save the next idiot some trouble… I went to the Inman page. Lani was joking.
October 5th, 2007 at 7:00 am
You MUST be mistaken… try again. Maybe you need to turn the lights out, look in the mirror and say “Lani is #26″ three times… I’ll wait…
October 5th, 2007 at 8:42 am
Great work Lani.
October 6th, 2007 at 1:46 am
Wow. Lani. I knew it. I knew it….. I knew it wasn’t a fluke… You were on that list…. it was late… past 2pm… I was scrolling and I accidentaly selected something and boom you were the 26th… like the guys at the grassy knoll you know… wow… and then the same thing.. I drove by Hollywood and I saw the moonlanding staging studio… I knew it.. I knew it….
October 6th, 2007 at 2:45 am
Wait. Are you mocking my win and equating it with a fake moon landing? I’m offended.

It’s almost as good as being awarded the coveted moniker of a Nacho Blogger.
